Book review: The Devil You Know and Vicious Circle by Mike Carey

I'm a fan of Mike Carey.  He's most known for his comic book writing, and indeed, that's where I discovered him.  He's done a great job with the X-Men, especially with my favorite X-Man, Rogue, whom he has given some of the best development and story lines she's gotten in decades.

However, comic book writers don't always make good book writers, so when I picked up Mike Carey's first and second novels, a supernatural mysteries called  The Devil You Know and Vicious Circle which kick off a series called Felix Castor after the main character (think early Anita Blake BEFORE it turned into smut), I was prepared for anything.

Simply put, it was awesome.
